Training Seminar Course titled “Law of the Sea and Policy in Eastern Mediterranean maritime area: Exclusive Economic Zone, Continental Shelf, Marine Environment and Transports” PDF Print E-mail

 

We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the Training Seminar Course titled “Law of the Sea and Policy in Eastern Mediterranean maritime area: Exclusive Economic Zone, Continental Shelf, Marine Environment and Transports”, co organized by the Institute of International Relations and the European Centre for Environmental Research and Training.

The 18 participants (professionals, students and young scientists) attended 16 hours of training on the following subjects:

1. Introduction on Law of the Sea. The Eastern Mediterranean Sea region

2. National Jurisdiction Zones: The Continental Shelf

3. Marine Natural Resources in Eastern Mediterranean

4. National Jurisdiction Zones: The Exclusive Economic Zone

5. Marine Environment Protection. The International Regime

6. Maritime Transport and Ports Development in the Mediterranean

7. Marine Environment Protection. The Mediterranean Regime

8. Institutional and Developmental Approaches in Eastern Mediterranean. Dispute Settlement and relative Perspectives.

The participants had the opportunity to attend lectures of multidisciplinary approach and to exchange their viewpoints with young and experienced researchers on the field of Marine and Maritime Sciences.

According to evaluation data, participants noted the “very good understanding of the subject” and the “organized presentations” of the lecturers. Comments also described the Seminars as “a very well organized and useful experience”.
