EKePEK was official partner of the International Year of Biodiversity.

Its participation consisted of:

• Participation in HEL.BIO.NET (Hellenic Network for Biodiversity Research). This action is part of the greek participation in the Lifewatch Program (ESFRI)
• Conference "Copenhagen 2009: The environment in the midst of an international crisis"
• Summer School "Europe and the Environment. The case of Climate Change and Biodiversity in the 21st century"
• Written Assignments for the Postgraduate Course "Environmental Governance and Sustainable Development".
